November 2015 Events:
Member Artists Show – “Water Temperature: Hot and Cold Wearable Glass” – Carli Schultz
Most of Carli’s work is created in the heat of the flame, where glass is taken to a molten state, and formed into beads and other shapes that are the primary focus of her jewelry. However, cold working glass has long been a curiosity for Carli; an itch she’s finally decided to scratch! New textures and shapes are emerging as she introduces coldworking, a method of working with glass without heat, into her artistry.
At the same time, a plunge into metalsmithing has added a different look to much of Carli’s recent work, with forging, heating, and other techniques using sterling silver added to her skill set.
In her featured show, the ways of working with glass, both hot and cold, are represented in this new body of work.
‘Water Temperature’ runs November 4 until November 30. Please join us for the Opening Reception on Saturday, November 14, 6-9pm. Complimentary refreshments and wine will be served.
