Beate Scheller

Many expressions, sceneries or effects led me to design a piece of artwork, but also lead to new ideas.

Some of my pieces seam to stand alone, but they still connecting intentionally or unintentionally to other prints I did.

Line work, pattern, organic shapes, and architectural designs sometimes mixed with fantasy elements influences the creation of my prints. Therefore call it “the red thread” going through all my imagery, weaving themes and stories together.

Working on a Litho stone or printing an etched copper plate is pleasing as well. For me the craftsmanship of printing my editions has it’s own way of art.

The combination of the actual physical work of printing, and in any case the design of the image developing through my motley collection of ideas I want to invite the viewer to step closer to my pieces, discovering and find their own story reflected through my prints.
